Summer Decorations August 8, 2010
In Portland, the only time we can have some fun with outdoor decorating (besides holiday lights) is during the summer months. One way I like to spruce up an outdoor event, or just a regular dinner outside, is by using hanging vases and votives.
Flowers and candles on the table are expected, but hanging them in trees or around the outside of your house is a beautiful surprise, and gives your backyard an enchanting feel.

Using mason jars is simple and beautiful.
You can illuminate a wedding party or buffet table with small votives
I know it's not hanging candles, but a floating candle/flower petal aisle is stunning.
