Festive Halloween Drink October 29, 2010

Picture Links to Southwest Airlines Spirit Magazine site

On my flight to Denver just about a month ago I was flipping through Southwest Airlines Spirit Magazine and came across a recipe for a Pumpkin Bomb – a festive October drink that combined seasonal beer and goldschlagger.

Always intrigued by new drinks that are: easy to make, fun for events, and hopefully delicious, I quickly opened the Notes app on my ipod touch and typed the recipe for my records. (Clearly forgetting that you can Google anything and I could find it at home later).

Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

Honey or Agave Syrup

2 tsp granulated sugar

1 tsp Cinnamon

One Ounce Goldschlagger

15 oz Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale

1/2 tsp Chopped toasted pumpkin seeds (I'll probably eliminate these from mine)

Directions:
1. Dip rim of pint glass in honey or agave syrup. Combine cinnamon and sugar and coat rim of glass in mixture.
2. Pour Goldschlager into glass and top off with pumpkin ale. Sprinkle pumpkin seeds and another pinch of cinnamon-sugar on the head of the beer.

I look forward to trying it this Halloween weekend.
